Description
Researchers have to publish research results as scientific
papers via print publishers and dedicated web platforms.
In order to increase
the world-wide visibility of such a research contribution, the information on a research
paper can be provided in publication directories, such as DBLP, Bibsonomy, Academia, be
indexed by dedicated crawlers, such as GoogleScholar, or also be distributed among several
research information platforms, such as ResearchGate or Mendeley.
So far, the distribution of this information of research papers is often a manual process. The objective of the team-oriented project is to identify appropriate distribution channels and to automate the information publishing to different research information platforms. After describing the current situation and a motivating scenario, a requirement analysis has to be done as a basis for a state-of-the-art analysis and the own solution. A concept has to be designed how multiple users from a professorship can publish their scientific paper information to existing service providers in an up-to-date fashion and without creating duplicates. The implementation has to be based on an already existing meta-data source (provided by the professorship) and can either be fully-automated or offer an appropriate web frontend, which also provides further publishing options and hints. The created solution has to be deployed on a virtual machine within the professorship and tested for multiple target distribution platforms.
